Lanscape Sketching
Here are 3 landscape exercises I did recently. My mission was how to establish value, color, textures and perspective in a couple of different ways. It helped me greatly on how to speed up my painting process and how you can suggest shapes with simple strokes. I might have taken some of them a little farther than I should have, but they served their purpose. I want to do more of these in the future, both speed paintings and fully rendered backgrounds. My inspiration for these exercises were
Feng Zhu and
Noah Bradley
I used photo reference for all three.

Welcome to my blog!
Hello, everyone. My name is Angel López and this is my "new" blog. And by new I mean I finally decided to post something.
So, anyways. In here I'll be posting some of my most recent art, specially concepts, studies and new works. I'm also going to use this space, and I think this is the most important reason, to keep track of my mission to become a successful illustrator. I love doing art, I live doing art. It's what I want. There are so many things I want to do, so many markets I want to try, like character and environment design, book and magazine cover illustration, and lots of other places. I want to find what I'm best at, grow as an illustrator each day and branch out to find new heights and goals.
I hope that by making this blog I can motivate myself to grow each day more and more. I want to keep this as a record of my journey of learning and achievements as a professional illustrator. And I hope that it will help others who are looking for some motivation or mild entertainment.
Enjoy.
